A Few Steps to Improving Curb Appeal

When someone comes to your home the first thing they look at is the outdoor condition. This can include grass, plants, the condition of your home and more! If you’ve ever watched an HGTV show you know that curb appeal is the way to anyones heart. We want to help you achieve that dream level of curb appeal in your front yard. Here are a few simple tips to help you get there!

Maintenance
Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance! We can’t say it enough! Keeping your yard well manicured is the best thing you can do. Having a yard that is over grown and messy is not going to help the presence of your home. The best way to stay on top of this would be to set a mowing schedule. Plan to cut your grass every Sunday morning or every other Sunday (or whatever day works best). Also, trim and prune your bushes and trees as needed. Be sure to maintain the weeds in your flower bed. Overgrowth can make your home look sloppy and poorly maintained.

Hardscaping
When most people talk about curb appeal they only think about the yard. This isn’t the only thing that goes noticed. Having a nice driveway, walkway, and stone work outside your home really makes it pop. Keeping your driveway edged and free of weeds in the cracks is the easiest thing to do. You can also seal your driveway to make it look new!

Having a stone or brick walkway adds character to your home. This can be a DIY project or you can call us to design a custom walkway. Also, having a brick trim around your flower beds is a simple feature that helps draw attention to your flower beds.

Mulching & Flower Beds
Mulch is a great way to add a fresh look to your lawn. Mulch can be put in your flowerbeds, around the edges of your driveway, and around your mailbox. Mulch can come in different stains that can compliment the color of your home. Make sure you don’t suffocate your plants with too much mulch. Try to avoid volcano mulching around the base of trees.

If your property doesn’t have any flower beds, you can spruce up your front porch with potted plants. Colorful pots with nice plants are a great way to add curb appeal. Some people will also put potted plants around their mailbox to add color.

These are just some simple tips to help make your yard stand out from everyone else. Have any questions about landscaping, hardscaping, or curb appeal? We would love to answer them!
