Why Tree Elevation is Important

In Southern Maryland, we are very lucky to have many tall trees including oaks, pines, and ash. When mowing your lawn do you find yourself ducking under low-hanging branches? If your yard has an abundance of trees with branches that are low to the ground, it may be time to elevate those trees to provide more clearance.

What is tree elevation?
Tree elevation is the practice of trimming the lowest branches on a tree in order to give it more clearance by eliminating low-hanging branches. Honey Cove Landscape & Tree Services' tree elevation service provides homeowners with safer tree growth. Low-hanging branches can reach over swimming pools, rest against windows and other areas creating an unsafe environment.

How does tree elevation improve my tree's health?
If you have walked through the woods, you’ve probably noticed that trees grow vertically as they compete for sunlight. If you compare that growth to what you see in your yard, you’ll see that trees also grow sideways. However, sideways growth can be stressful to a tree’s trunk and without proper care, it will outgrow its ability to support its weight.

Our goal is to make sure your trees are healthy while protecting the value and safety of your property. We know how to elevate trees in such a way as to make them grow vertically with a good branch structure. We provide homeowners with an affordable service that keeps their trees healthy, their homes safe, and their property beautiful.
