What is Undergrowth/Underbrush

& Why it Should be Removed

Bushes, shrubs, and small trees that grow beneath large trees is referred to as undergrowth or underbrush. Having undergrowth on your property is undesirable for its appearance and other types of plant life. Some of this growth can be poisonous and also increase the chance of a fire spreading.

Clearing Undergrowth Can Improve Access to Your Property
Underbrush can make access to your home or property difficult when the area becomes covered with overgrown brush, stumps, shrubs, etc. Walkways and driveways become invisible and inaccessible. Removal of underbrush will create a visible path to your property, improving accessibility.

Removal of Underbrush Also Improves Curb Appeal & Property Value
Removal of underbrush improves the visual appearance of your lawn, plants, and property. If your property is looking somewhat shabby, look for undergrowth. Removing it will make your property look neat improving its overall appearance. Undergrowth should be cleared regularly.

If you’re planning to sell your home, curb appeal is very important. It’s that first impression that will turn-off a buyer or excite a buyer. When a buyer sees a neat home with a well-groomed property, he will be willing to pay more. If the overall appearance is shabby, he will most likely ask for a reduction in price to cover cleaning up the property, or just walk away.

Clearing all of the underbrush as a DIY project can be time-consuming if you don’t have the right tools and experience to do the job. There is also a chance that when clearing underbrush you might find unfriendly animals, poisonous snakes and plants.

It just makes sense to leave it to Honey Cove Landscaping and Tree Services.  We have the experience and tools to get the job done. Contact us for a free estimate.
