- It drops large amounts of branches; it may be time.
- Roots are damaged or there is visible trunk decay, or it is hollow, it’s time.
- Shallow roots that continuously damage the pavement or your lawn, it’s time.
- Infestation of insects, fungi, or diseases, you have treated the tree, without improvement, it’s time.
- The tree is leaning against your house, it’s time.
- The tree is too wide and blocking access or, it’s too tall and may hit power lines. It’s time.
So, how do you remove a tree from a tight space?
Depending on the situation, an arborist may choose to use:
Felling, Climb & Cut
If the tree is very large, an arborist climbs the tree and uses a chainsaw to cut. This should be done only when the limbs can be guided down with lines for a safe landing,
Use a Bucket Truck
Using a bucket truck when it is difficult to reach the tree canopy from the ground is another option.
Remove a Tree Using a Crane
Use a crane, to lift the tree out of the area vertically and move it to a drop zone, piece by piece. Using a crane greatly reduces the chance of the tree falling against or on a building, surrounding trees or people.
